Common questions about the Martian Manhunter Pop! Heroes from Funko (2017).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Martian Manhunter Pop! Heroes (SKU 217) is not considered rare, as it was part of a standard 2017 production run for the Funko Heroes line. It was widely available through major retailers and comic book stores during its release window. Consequently, it is generally easy to find in new condition on the secondary market at or near its original retail price.
The value of the 2017 Martian Manhunter Pop! Heroes (SKU 217) fluctuates based on condition and market demand, but it typically sells for between $15 and $30 in sealed condition. Prices for open figures are generally lower, often ranging from $10 to $20. For the most accurate current valuation, check recent completed sales on secondary marketplaces like eBay.
To authenticate your Martian Manhunter Pop! (SKU 217), first verify that the box features the official Funko logo and that the figure itself has the correct paint application and sculpt details consistent with the 2017 release. Check the base of the figure for a molded copyright symbol and the specific SKU number, which should match the 217 listed on the packaging. Be aware that while the character is from the DC Universe, the "Heroes" line was a specific sub-brand, so ensure the packaging design matches the standard Funko Pop! style for that era. If the paint is chipped, the eyes are misaligned, or the box lacks proper licensing marks, the item may be a counterfeit.
The Martian Manhunter Pop! Heroes was released in 2017 by Funko.
The Martian Manhunter Pop! Heroes figure (SKU 217) is no longer in print and is not available to buy new from Funko. It was released in 2017 and has since been discontinued, meaning it can only be purchased as a used item from secondary markets.
Condition-checking a Funko Pop! involves inspecting the figure for common defects such as paint overspray, seam lines, or chipped plastic, with particular attention to Martian Manhunter's translucent green skin and cape. For a formal grade, you must submit the item to a third-party authentication service like PSA, which will evaluate the figure's overall condition and assign a numerical score. Be aware that grading fees can be significant relative to the resale value of a standard 2017 release, so many collectors rely on visual inspection and high-resolution photos for casual transactions.
