No, this figure is not considered rare. It was a standard production release by Funko in 2022 to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the Halo franchise, meaning it was widely distributed through major retail channels. While its value may fluctuate based on market demand, it is a common collectible item rather than a limited-edition or exclusive variant.
The retail value for the 2022 Master Chief with MA40 (20th Anniversary) Funko Pop! is typically around $12.99 to $14.99 for a new, sealed figure. Because this item was part of a large-scale anniversary release and is not a limited edition, it does not command a significant premium on the secondary market, with used copies often selling for less than the original retail price.
To authenticate your Funko Pop! Master Chief with MA40 (20th Anniversary), first verify that the box features the official 20th Anniversary logo and that the figure itself displays the correct sculpting details, such as the MA40 rifle and the specific helmet design. Check the bottom of the figure for the "Funko" logo and the year of manufacture, which should align with the 2022 release window. You can also cross-reference the SKU number 25 against official Funko product listings to ensure the packaging and figure match the genuine release specifications.

Condition-checking a Funko Pop! involves inspecting the figure under bright, direct light for common defects such as paint overspray, seam lines, and scratches on the plastic. For this specific 20th Anniversary release, pay close attention to the MA40 rifle, as small weapons are prone to chipping or missing details, and verify that the Master Chief helmet is free of scuffs. While you can perform a visual inspection at home, obtaining an official grade requires submitting the figure to a professional third-party grading service like PSA, which will assign a numerical score based on its overall condition.
