No, the Max Scherzer Pop! MLB figure is not considered rare. It is a standard production item from Funko's 2018 MLB line, and while specific variants like Chase or Exclusive editions may be harder to find, the base figure was widely distributed and remains readily available on the secondary market.
The value of a 2018 Max Scherzer Pop! MLB figure varies significantly based on its condition, whether it is sealed in the box, and the current market demand. As a standard 3.75-inch vinyl figure, it is generally considered a common item, and unopened copies typically sell for a modest premium over the original retail price, while opened figures often trade for less. For the most accurate current valuation, you should check recent completed sales on secondary marketplaces like eBay, as prices for individual sports figures fluctuate frequently.
Authenticating a 2018 Max Scherzer Pop! MLB figure involves checking the packaging for a clear, undamaged window and a legible UPC label, as well as inspecting the figure itself for consistent paint application and the standard "Funko" logo on the base. Because this item was produced in 2018 and is no longer in active retail distribution, the most reliable method to verify authenticity is to compare your figure against high-resolution images of known genuine examples from reputable collector communities or auction sites. If the figure exhibits significant paint flaws, misaligned parts, or lacks the proper branding, it may be a counterfeit, so consulting a professional authentication service is recommended if you have specific concerns.

The Max Scherzer Pop! MLB (SKU 16) is considered out of print and is no longer available for purchase as a new item from Funko. While the figure may occasionally appear on the secondary market through resellers, it is not part of Funko's current active production lineup.
Condition-checking a Funko Pop! figure involves inspecting the vinyl for scratches, scuffs, or paint chips, particularly on the face and uniform details. You should also verify that the figure is securely seated on the base and that the eyes are intact without clouding or misalignment. For a formal grade, you can submit the figure to a third-party grading service, though most collectors simply assess the item as "Mint in Box" (MIB) or "Mint" based on the presence of the original packaging and the absence of visible defects.
