Common questions about the Max the Dog Pop! Movies from Funko (2019).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Max the Dog Pop! Movies figure is not considered rare. It was part of a standard mass-production run released in 2019 and is widely available on the secondary market. Collectors generally classify this item as common due to its high production volume and continued availability.
The value of a Max the Dog Pop! Movies figure (SKU 660) fluctuates based on condition, packaging, and current market demand, so there is no single fixed price. As a standard 3.75-inch vinyl figure released in 2019, it typically trades for a modest amount in the secondary market, often ranging from a few dollars to roughly $10–$15 for a sealed, unopened box. Prices for open figures are generally lower, and specific variants or errors may command a premium, but this particular SKU is not considered a rare or high-value collectible.
To authenticate your Max the Dog Pop! Movies (SKU 660), first verify that the packaging is a sealed, shrink-wrapped box with the correct Funko logo and barcode, as unboxed figures are significantly harder to verify. Examine the figure's paint application, looking for consistent colors, clean edges, and the absence of excess paint or "flash" on the plastic, which are common indicators of counterfeit items. Check the base for a smooth finish and ensure the figure's proportions match official product images, as fakes often feature distorted shapes or poor articulation. If the item was purchased from an authorized retailer, it is likely genuine, but any signs of poor manufacturing quality should prompt you to seek a professional appraisal.
The Max the Dog Pop! Movies was released in 2019 by Funko.
Funko has discontinued the Max the Dog Pop! Movies figure, meaning it is no longer in print and cannot be purchased new directly from the manufacturer. While the item is no longer produced, it remains available through third-party resellers and the secondary market, where prices are typically higher than the original retail value.
There is no standardized third-party grading service for Funko Pops, so you should inspect the figure yourself for common defects such as paint overspray, seam lines, or chipped plastic. Check that the eyes are aligned and the head is properly seated on the body, as these are frequent issues with 2019 production runs. For condition checking, compare your figure against high-resolution images of a known good example, paying close attention to the specific details of the Max the Dog design.
