Common questions about the Mer-Man Pop! Retro Toys from Funko (2021).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Mer-Man Pop! Retro Toys is not considered rare. It was part of a standard mass-production run released in 2021, meaning it was widely available through major retail channels and online stores. While specific variants like Chase or Exclusive editions may be harder to find, the standard SKU 91 figure is a common collectible item.
The value of a Funko Pop! Mer-Man (SKU 91) varies significantly based on condition, with unopened factory-sealed boxes typically commanding a premium over loose figures. As a 2021 release, it is no longer considered a first-year item, which generally stabilizes its market price compared to limited-edition variants. For the most accurate current valuation, you should check recent completed sales on secondary marketplaces like eBay, as prices fluctuate based on collector demand.
To authenticate your Mer-Man Pop! Retro Toys figure, first verify that the packaging is a sealed, square box with the correct Funko logo and the specific SKU number 91 printed on the back. Inspect the figure itself for consistent paint application, sharp sculpting details, and the standard Funko vinyl texture, as counterfeit versions often feature blurry printing or off-color plastics. You can further confirm authenticity by checking the barcode on the box against official Funko product listings or consulting the Funko community forums, where collectors frequently share images of known counterfeits for comparison.

The Mer-Man Pop! Retro Toys figure is no longer in print and is not available to buy new from Funko. As a 2021 release, it has been discontinued, meaning new stock is only available through third-party resellers or the secondary market.
There is no official third-party grading service for Funko Pops, so condition is determined by visual inspection rather than a numerical score. You should examine the figure for common defects such as paint overspray, seam lines, chipped plastic, or discoloration, paying close attention to the head sculpt and base. For the Retro Toys line, verify that the packaging is intact and free of significant shelf wear, as the box condition significantly impacts the item's value.
