As a 2012 release, it is a mid-tier collectible, and its market price is generally lower than flagship Marvel Legends figures but higher than standard 6-inch lines. To authenticate your Hot Toys MMS 165 Spider-Man (Black Suit Version), verify that the packaging features the official Hot Toys logo and the specific MPN "MMS165" printed on the box. Inspect the figure for consistent paint application, precise sculpting of the black suit texture, and the correct articulation points, as counterfeit versions often exhibit sloppy molding or faded colors. Check the base and joints for the standard Hot Toys quality control, and confirm that the included accessories match the official product listing for this specific release from March 2012.
