To authenticate your Hot Toys MMS 166 War Machine, first verify that the packaging displays the official Hot Toys logo, the MMS166 product code, and the "Special Version" designation, as this specific release was a limited variant. Inspect the figure for high-quality paint application, crisp sculpting details, and the presence of the numbered certificate of authenticity typically included in the box. You can further confirm legitimacy by cross-referencing the serial number on the certificate with Hot Toys' official records or by comparing the figure's articulation points and accessory quality against verified images from reputable collector communities.

The Hot Toys MMS 166 War Machine (Special Version) is a discontinued product from 2012 and is no longer in print. It is not available to purchase new directly from the manufacturer or major retail channels. Collectors seeking this item must look for used or pre-owned copies on the secondary market.
Hot Toys does not assign official numerical grades to its 1/6th scale figures, so condition assessment is typically done subjectively by collectors based on visual inspection. You should examine the figure for common wear points such as paint transfer on the armor, scratches on the clear parts, and discoloration of the plastic, while also checking that all articulation points move smoothly without excessive play. If the item is in its original packaging, the condition of the box and the presence of all original accessories, instruction manuals, and display stands are critical factors in determining its value and completeness.
