The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Hot Toys MMS45 Predator 2 is not considered rare, as it was a standard mass-production release from the 2008 line. Being a popular figure from a major franchise, it remains widely available in the secondary market.
The Hot Toys MMS45 Predator 2 is a 1/6 scale figure released in 2008, and its current market value typically ranges between $80 and $150 USD for a complete, unopened box. Prices for loose figures are generally lower, often falling between $40 and $80 depending on the condition of the accessories and paint. Exact valuations fluctuate based on the specific retailer and the overall demand for the Predator franchise, so checking recent sold listings on platforms like eBay is recommended for the most accurate current pricing.
No, the item described is not a Hot Toys product. Hot Toys is a manufacturer of high-end, 1/6th scale collectible figures, whereas the "MMS" prefix and the specific "Predator 2" title correspond to the Mass Media Series (MMS) line of 1/18th scale die-cast vehicles produced by Maisto. Therefore, the manufacturer listed in your query is incorrect, and you should authenticate the item by verifying Maisto branding and packaging standards for the MMS45 model rather than Hot Toys.
The MMS 45 Predator 2 was released in 4-Dec-08 by Hot Toys.
The Hot Toys MMS 45 Predator 2 is no longer in print and is not available to buy new from the manufacturer. As a 2008 release, it is considered a discontinued item, meaning any new copies found today are likely remaining stock from retailers or resellers, and the primary market for this figure is now the secondary used market.
Grading a Hot Toys MMS 45 Predator 2 requires a detailed inspection of the figure's articulation points, paint application, and accessory integrity, as these 1/6th scale collectibles are typically not submitted to professional grading services like PSA or Beckett. You should check for common wear indicators such as paint chipping on the armor, loose joints, or discoloration of the clear parts, while also verifying that all included accessories and display stands are present and undamaged. Since the figure is from 2008, pay particular attention to any yellowing of plastic components or degradation of the original packaging if you are evaluating it as a sealed item.
