To authenticate your Hot Toys MMS 457 Luke Skywalker, first verify the packaging for the correct MPN (MMS457 or MMS458) and check for the official Hot Toys logo and holographic seal. Examine the figure itself for consistent paint application, crisp sculpting, and the correct articulation points, as counterfeits often show sloppy molding or faded colors. You can also compare the figure against official product images and check the bottom of the base or packaging for a unique serial number or batch code that matches Hot Toys' production records for the 2017 release. If the item lacks these specific manufacturing details or the plastic feels unusually lightweight or brittle, it may be a replica.

To grade the Hot Toys MMS 457 Luke Skywalker, you should inspect the figure for common defects such as paint chips, scratches, or loose joints, paying close attention to the lightsaber hilt and the tunic details. For a formal grade, you would typically submit the figure to a professional grading service like Beckett or PSA, which will assign a numerical score based on the figure's condition relative to a pristine reference. If you are checking it yourself, compare the item against a known perfect example, looking specifically for stress marks on the plastic and the integrity of the included accessories.
