Common questions about the MMS 49 Jor-El from Hot Toys (9-Dec-08).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Hot Toys MMS 49 Jor-El figure is not considered rare, as it was a standard production item released in December 2008. It was widely available through major retailers and Hot Toys' own distribution channels at the time of its launch. While older figures can become harder to find in mint condition, this specific model was not a limited edition or a low-run exclusive.
I cannot find reliable information to determine the current market value of the Hot Toys MMS 49 Jor-El figure.
It is not possible to definitively authenticate a Hot Toys MMS49 Jor-El figure based solely on the model number and release date, as counterfeit replicas of popular collectibles do exist. To verify authenticity, you should inspect the packaging for high-quality printing and correct barcodes, and examine the figure itself for precise sculpting, consistent paint application, and the specific articulation points characteristic of genuine Hot Toys products. If you purchased the item from a reputable retailer, it is likely authentic, but consulting a certified appraiser or the manufacturer directly is recommended for high-value items.
The MMS 49 Jor-El was released in 9-Dec-08 by Hot Toys.
The Hot Toys MMS 49 Jor-El, released in December 2008, is long out of print and is no longer available for purchase directly from the manufacturer. As a vintage collectible, it is only obtainable through the secondary market, such as online auction sites or specialized toy dealers, where prices typically exceed the original retail value.
I cannot find reliable information regarding a Hot Toys figure with the MPN MMS49 or a Jor-El release dated December 9, 2008, as this specific identifier and date do not correspond to known Hot Toys catalog records. Because the item details appear to be inaccurate or non-existent, I cannot provide specific grading criteria for this particular product. I recommend verifying the correct MPN and manufacturer, as Hot Toys typically uses alphanumeric codes (such as HTF001) rather than the MMS prefix for their 1/6 scale collectibles.
