The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Hot Toys MMS 512 Newt Scamander is a standard production 1/6th scale figure released in November 2018, not a limited edition. Because it was part of the regular retail lineup for the *Fantastic Beasts* series, it is not considered rare, and copies are generally available through secondary markets.
The Hot Toys MMS 512 Newt Scamander figure, released in November 2018, typically retails for approximately $100 to $120 when new in box. Because this is a relatively recent release from a major manufacturer, its value on the secondary market generally remains close to its original retail price, with used copies often selling for slightly less depending on condition. Prices can fluctuate based on current demand and the specific state of the packaging and accessories.
To authenticate your Hot Toys MMS 512 Newt Scamander, verify that the packaging includes the official Hot Toys logo, the MPN MMS512, and the "1/6 Scale" designation, and check that the figure itself has the standard Hot Toys copyright markings on the base or accessories. Examine the sculpting quality, paint application, and fabric textures, as counterfeit items often exhibit poor detail, off-color materials, or missing articulation points. If you purchased the item from an unauthorized third-party seller, consider having it inspected by a professional authentication service, as Hot Toys does not provide a public serial number database for consumer verification.

The Hot Toys MMS 512 Newt Scamander figure is no longer in print and is not available to purchase new from the manufacturer. As a 2018 release, it is considered a discontinued product, meaning new stock is only available through the secondary market, such as online resale platforms or local hobby shops.
Condition-checking the Hot Toys MMS 512 Newt Scamander involves inspecting the vinyl head for hairline cracks, verifying that the eyes are free of clouding, and ensuring the fabric costume is free from stains, pilling, or loose threads. You should also examine the articulation points for stress marks and confirm that the included accessories, such as the wand and props, are intact and undamaged. Since this is a 2018 release, check for any yellowing in the plastic components and ensure the original packaging is present if you intend to sell it as a sealed item.
