The Hot Toys MMS 513 Gellert Grindelwald is not considered rare, as it was a standard production figure released in November 2018. Being a mainstream product from a major manufacturer, it was widely available through retail channels and has a large production run. Consequently, it is generally easy to find in the secondary market at or near its original retail price.
The Hot Toys MMS 513 Gellert Grindelwald figure typically retails for approximately $100 to $120 when new. As a 2018 release, its value on the secondary market generally hovers around the original retail price, provided the item is in complete, unopened condition. Prices may fluctuate slightly based on current demand and the specific condition of the packaging and accessories.
To authenticate your Hot Toys MMS 513 Gellert Grindelwald, verify that the packaging includes the official Hot Toys logo, the specific MPN MMS513, and a unique serial number on the box and the figure's base. Inspect the sculpting quality, paint application, and articulation for consistency with the 1/6th scale standard, and check for the presence of all advertised accessories. If the item lacks these specific identifiers or exhibits poor manufacturing quality, it may be a counterfeit, and you should consult the official Hot Toys authentication channels for further verification.

Grading a Hot Toys figure like the MMS 513 Gellert Grindelwald typically involves a visual inspection for common defects such as paint transfer, seam lines, and plastic stress marks, particularly on the cloak and facial features. Unlike trading cards, figures are rarely submitted to third-party grading services like PSA, so condition assessment is usually done by collectors checking for original packaging integrity, articulation tightness, and the absence of scratches or discoloration. If you are looking for a certified grade, you would need to consult specific figure grading services, though this is not a standard practice for 1/6th scale collectibles.
