No, the MMS 555 Pennywise is not considered rare. It is a standard production 1/6 scale figure released by Hot Toys in September 2019 as part of their regular catalog. While specific variants or limited editions may have lower production runs, the base model was widely available to the general public.
The Hot Toys MMS 555 Pennywise is a 1/6th scale collectible figure released in 2019, and its current market value typically ranges between $150 and $250 USD depending on condition and whether it is sealed. Prices fluctuate based on demand and the specific condition of the packaging and accessories, so checking recent completed sales on platforms like eBay provides the most accurate real-time valuation.
It is not possible to authenticate a Hot Toys figure as "real" in the same way one would verify a vintage collectible, as Hot Toys is a modern manufacturer that does not produce counterfeit items for the general consumer market. The primary risk with this item is not counterfeiting, but rather the presence of unauthorized third-party reproductions or "bootlegs" that mimic the original packaging and figure. To verify authenticity, you should examine the build quality, paint application, and articulation, as genuine Hot Toys figures feature high-density vinyl, precise sculpting, and consistent branding on the box and figure itself. If the item was purchased from an authorized retailer or Hot Toys directly, it is almost certainly authentic.

The Hot Toys MMS 555 Pennywise is a limited edition collectible that was released in 2019 and is no longer in production. It is not available to buy new from the manufacturer, and current market availability is limited to the secondary market where prices typically exceed the original retail value.
Grading the Hot Toys MMS 555 Pennywise requires a professional inspection by a third-party service like PSA, CGC, or Beckett, as there is no standardized method for self-grading. These services will evaluate the figure's paint condition, articulation wear, and accessory completeness to assign a numerical score. For a preliminary check, examine the figure under bright light for paint chips, stress marks, or discoloration, and verify that all included accessories are present and undamaged.
