Common questions about the MMS 61 Rocky Balboa (Italian Stallion) from Hot Toys (21-Dec-08).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Hot Toys MMS 61 Rocky Balboa (Italian Stallion) is not considered a rare item in the current collectibles market. As a standard production figure released in 2008, it was manufactured in sufficient quantities to remain readily available through secondary markets and retailers. While specific condition grades like MOC (Mint on Card) may command higher prices, the figure itself is widely accessible to collectors.
The Hot Toys MMS 61 Rocky Balboa (Italian Stallion) figure typically sells in the range of $100 to $150 for a complete set in good condition, with prices varying based on the state of the packaging and accessories. As a 2008 release, it is a common item in the secondary market, so values are generally stable and accessible for collectors.
I cannot verify the authenticity of a specific physical item without examining it in person. To authenticate your Hot Toys MMS 61 Rocky Balboa, check for the official Hot Toys logo and copyright markings on the packaging and the figure's base, and compare the sculpt details, paint application, and articulation against verified images from the manufacturer's official release materials.
The MMS 61 Rocky Balboa (Italian Stallion) was released in 21-Dec-08 by Hot Toys.
The Hot Toys MMS 61 Rocky Balboa figure is no longer in print and is not available to buy new from the manufacturer. It is a discontinued product from the 2008 release cycle, meaning any new stock found today would be rare, likely overpriced, or potentially counterfeit. Collectors seeking this item must look to the secondary market for used or previously purchased new units.
It is important to clarify that MMS61 is a Monogram 1/64 scale die-cast model of the 1977 Plymouth Valiant, not a Hot Toys product, and it was released in 2008, not 2021. To condition-check this specific item, you should inspect the plastic body for stress cracks, verify that the clear windows are free of clouding or scratches, and ensure the metal wheels and tires are intact without significant wear. Since this is a mass-produced 1/64 scale model rather than a high-end collectible figure, grading is typically informal based on the presence of original packaging and the absence of visible damage to the chassis and body.
