The Hot Toys MMS 655 Thor is not considered rare, as it was a standard production 1/6th scale figure released in 2022. It was widely available through major retailers and the manufacturer's official store, meaning production numbers were sufficient to meet general consumer demand. While specific limited editions or special packaging variants may be harder to find, the standard figure remains relatively common in the secondary market.

To authenticate your Hot Toys MMS 655 Thor, verify that the figure includes the specific accessories listed in the 2022 release, such as the interchangeable hands and the Mjolnir hammer, and check for the official Hot Toys logo and copyright markings on the base and packaging. Examine the paint application and sculpting quality closely, as counterfeit figures often feature sloppy molding, off-color paint, or missing fine details on the face and costume. If you purchased the item from a third-party marketplace, compare the serial number and box condition against known genuine examples, but note that without a certificate of authenticity from the manufacturer, definitive verification of a used item is difficult.
