The MMS 706 Groot is not considered rare, as it is a standard production 1/6th scale figure released by Hot Toys in May 2023. It was widely available through major retailers and the manufacturer's official channels, making it a common item in the current market.

It is not possible to definitively authenticate a specific physical item as genuine without a physical inspection, as Hot Toys does not provide a public serial number database for consumer verification. To assess authenticity, you should examine the packaging for high-quality printing, correct barcodes, and the official Hot Toys logo, while checking the figure itself for precise sculpting, smooth paint application, and the presence of the manufacturer's logo on the base. If the item was purchased from an authorized retailer, it is highly likely to be authentic, but any significant deviations in quality or packaging suggest it may be a counterfeit.

The Hot Toys MMS 706 Groot is no longer in print and is not available to buy new from the manufacturer. As a 2023 release, it has been discontinued, meaning new stock is no longer produced. Collectors seeking this figure must look for pre-owned units on the secondary market, where prices may fluctuate based on condition and demand.
To condition-check a Hot Toys MMS 706 Groot, inspect the vinyl surface for stress marks, scuffs, or paint chips, paying close attention to high-contact areas like the hands and feet. Verify that the articulation points move smoothly without excessive play or stiffness, and ensure the included accessories and display stand are free from cracks or discoloration. If you are seeking a formal grade for resale value, submit the figure to a third-party grading service such as CGC, which will evaluate the item based on standardized criteria for paint, articulation, and overall completeness.
