Common questions about the Mooncalf Pop! Fantastic Beasts from Funko (2018).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Mooncalf Pop! Fantastic Beasts is not considered a rare item. It was part of a standard, mass-produced wave of Funko Pop! figures released in 2018, meaning it was widely available to the general public. Because of its high production volume, it is generally easy to find in new or used condition at standard retail prices.
The Mooncalf Pop! from the Fantastic Beasts collection (SKU 24) typically sells for approximately $10 to $15 in new condition on the secondary market. Because this figure was released in 2018 and is no longer in production, prices can fluctuate slightly based on current demand, but it generally remains an affordable collectible.
To authenticate your Mooncalf Pop!, verify that the figure is made of solid vinyl with a smooth, consistent finish and that the paint is crisp without bleeding. Check the base for a clear, legible copyright stamp and ensure the packaging, if present, features the official Funko logo and correct barcodes. While there is no single definitive test for a specific SKU, significant deviations in proportions, weight, or print quality compared to verified examples from reputable retailers are strong indicators of a counterfeit.
The Mooncalf Pop! Fantastic Beasts was released in 2018 by Funko.
The Mooncalf Pop! from the Fantastic Beasts series is no longer in print and is not available to buy new from Funko. As a 2018 release, it is considered a discontinued item, meaning any new stock found today would likely be from old inventory or resellers.
Condition-checking a Funko Pop! involves inspecting the figure for common defects such as paint overspray, seam lines, or misaligned eyes, and verifying that the packaging is free of dents, tears, or yellowing. For a formal grade, you can submit the item to a third-party grading service like PSA, which will evaluate the figure and box on a 1-10 scale and encase them in a tamper-evident slab. Keep in mind that grading fees can often exceed the resale value of standard, unsealed figures, so it is usually only cost-effective for rare variants or items in pristine condition.
