No, the Mother Ghost Pop! Movies figure (SKU 217) is not considered rare. It was a standard production item released by Funko in 2015 and was widely available through major retail channels, meaning it is not a limited edition or exclusive variant.
The value of a 2015 Funko Pop! Movies Mother Ghost (SKU 217) fluctuates based on condition, but unopened retail copies typically sell for between $15 and $30. Opened figures in good condition generally command a lower price, often ranging from $8 to $15. Prices for sealed items can spike higher during periods of high demand for the *Ghostbusters* franchise or if the specific SKU becomes difficult to find in new condition.
To authenticate a Funko Pop! figure, first verify that the packaging is original and features the correct SKU 217, which corresponds to the 2015 release of the Mother Ghost from *The Conjuring*. Examine the figure itself for consistent paint application, proper seam alignment, and the correct Funko logo on the base, as counterfeit items often exhibit sloppy molding or off-color details. While there is no single definitive test, comparing your item side-by-side with high-resolution images of a verified authentic SKU 217 is the most reliable method for identifying discrepancies in scale, texture, or design.
The Mother Ghost Pop! Movies was released in 2015 by Funko.
The Mother Ghost Pop! Movies figure (SKU 217) is currently out of print and is no longer available for purchase new directly from Funko. As a 2015 release, it is considered a discontinued item, meaning new stock is generally unavailable and collectors typically seek out used copies on the secondary market.
To condition-check a Mother Ghost Pop! figure, inspect the vinyl surface for hairline cracks, particularly around the joints and the ghost's tattered edges, and verify that the paint is intact without significant fading or chipping. Examine the base for scuffs or stickers, as these are common indicators of handling, and check the eyes for any cloudiness or damage. Since Funko Pop! figures are not typically graded by major third-party services like PSA or CGC, their value is generally determined by their ungraded condition and the presence of the original box.
