Common questions about the Mufasa (Flocked) Pop! Disney from Funko (2018).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Mufasa (Flocked) Pop! is not considered rare, as it was a standard production release for the 2018 Disney line. It was widely available in retail stores and online during its release window and has not been discontinued in a way that creates significant scarcity. While flocked variants can sometimes command a small premium over standard figures due to their unique texture, this specific item remains a common collectible for most buyers.
The Mufasa (Flocked) Pop! Disney (SKU 495) is a standard retail release from 2018 that typically trades at or near its original retail price, generally ranging between $10 and $15 in new condition. Because it is a common item without limited production numbers, it does not carry a significant premium over its MSRP, and its value is largely dependent on the condition of the packaging and the figure itself.
To authenticate your 2018 Mufasa (Flocked) Pop! (SKU 495), verify that the box features the official Funko logo and that the figure itself has the correct flocked texture on the mane and body, which should feel soft and uniform rather than patchy or synthetic. Check the base of the figure for the standard Funko mold mark and ensure the paint application on the eyes and facial features is crisp, as poor paint jobs are a common indicator of counterfeits. If the packaging lacks the specific 2018 release details or the figure feels lighter than expected, it may be a reproduction, so comparing it side-by-side with verified images from a reputable collector database is recommended.
The Mufasa (Flocked) Pop! Disney was released in 2018 by Funko.
The Mufasa (Flocked) Pop! Disney, SKU 495, is no longer in print and is not available for purchase new from Funko or major retail partners. As a 2018 release, it is considered a discontinued item, meaning any new stock found today would likely be from remaining inventory at third-party sellers or resellers.
Condition-checking a flocked Pop! requires careful inspection of the fur texture, as the flocking is prone to shedding, clumping, or wearing down on high-contact areas like the head and paws. You should examine the figure under bright light to ensure the flocking is uniform and free of bald spots, while also checking that the eyes and other non-flocked details remain intact and unscratched. Because flocked variants are more susceptible to damage than standard vinyl figures, any significant loss of texture or discoloration will negatively impact the item's grade and value.
