The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Newt Scamander (Suitcase) Pop! is not considered rare. It was a standard retail release from 2018 and was widely available in stores and online. Because it was produced in large quantities and is not a limited edition, it is generally easy to find in new condition.
The Newt Scamander (Suitcase) Pop! from the Fantastic Beasts line, released in 2018, typically sells for between $10 and $20 in the secondary market. As a standard production figure that was widely available, it does not command a significant premium over its original retail price. Its value remains stable and modest, primarily driven by casual collecting interest rather than rarity.
To authenticate your 2018 Newt Scamander (Suitcase) Pop! (SKU 23), verify that the figure has the standard Funko logo on the base and that the plastic is solid with sharp, clean edges rather than the soft, porous feel of counterfeit resin. Check the packaging for the correct SKU number 23 and the 2018 copyright date, ensuring the box art matches official Funko release materials. If the figure lacks the proper molding details or the box appears to be a generic reprint without specific release information, it is likely a replica.
The Newt Scamander (Suitcase) Pop! Fantastic Beasts was released in 2018 by Funko.
The Newt Scamander (Suitcase) Pop! from the Fantastic Beasts line is no longer in print and is not available for purchase new from Funko. As a 2018 release, this figure is considered out of production, meaning any new units found on the market are likely from remaining retailer stock or are resealed used items.
There is no official grading service for Funko Pop! figures, so condition is assessed by the seller or buyer using informal standards. You should inspect the figure for common defects such as paint chips, hairline cracks, or discoloration, and verify that the suitcase accessory is intact and not warped. Check the head for any "head tilt" or misalignment with the body, and ensure the eyes are properly seated and free of bubbles. Since these figures are mass-produced, minor molding imperfections are common, but significant damage or missing parts will significantly reduce the item's value.
