The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Optimus Primal Pop! Movies figure is not considered rare. It is a standard production item released in 2023 as part of the general Transformers movie line, meaning it was widely distributed and is not a limited edition or exclusive variant.
The Optimus Primal Pop! Movies figure (SKU 1376) is a standard retail collectible that typically trades at or near its original retail price, generally ranging between $12 and $15 USD. Because it is a common item from a 2023 release, it does not command a significant premium in the secondary market unless it is sealed in a factory-fresh box with intact packaging.
To authenticate your Optimus Primal Pop! Movies figure, first verify that the box displays the official Funko logo and the correct SKU number 1376, which corresponds to the 2023 release. Inspect the figure for high-quality paint application, consistent sculpting, and a clear, undamaged vinyl finish, as counterfeit items often feature blurry details or poor paint coverage. You can also cross-reference the product images and packaging design against official Funko listings or reputable retailer archives to ensure the box art and character depiction match the genuine release.
The Optimus Primal Pop! Movies was released in 2023 by Funko.
Funko has not officially announced the discontinuation of the Optimus Primal Pop! Movies figure (SKU 1376), so it remains technically in print. However, availability for new purchases is often inconsistent due to production delays and stock fluctuations, meaning it may be out of stock at major retailers at any given time.
Condition-checking a Funko Pop! involves inspecting the vinyl figure for surface defects such as scratches, paint chips, or molding seams, and verifying that the head fits securely on the body without excessive wobble. You should also examine the box for any dents, tears, or creases, as these factors significantly impact the item's value. While professional grading services like PSA or CGC can provide a standardized condition score, most collectors assess these items informally by checking for "mint" versus "played" status based on visible wear.
