The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Optimus Prime Pop! Movies figure (SKU 1372) is not considered rare. It is a standard production item released in 2023 as part of a major franchise line, meaning it was manufactured in large quantities and remains widely available through retail channels and secondary markets.
The Optimus Prime Pop! Movies figure (SKU 1372) is a standard retail release with a typical MSRP of $12.99, meaning its value is generally anchored to that price point for new, in-box units. Because it is a common mass-produced item, it does not carry a significant premium in the secondary market, and prices for used or opened figures are usually below the original retail cost.
To authenticate a Funko Pop! figure, verify that the box is sealed with the official holographic sticker and that the figure itself has the correct weight, paint quality, and articulation for the specific SKU. You can cross-reference the packaging details, including the UPC code and copyright date, against Funko's official product listings or reputable collector databases to ensure the item matches the 2023 release specifications. If the figure exhibits poor paint application, loose joints, or mismatched box art, it is likely a counterfeit.

Funko has not officially announced that the Optimus Prime Pop! Movies (SKU 1372) is discontinued, so it remains technically in print. However, availability for this specific 2023 release fluctuates significantly, and it is frequently sold out at major retail partners. You should check current stock on Funko's official website or authorized retailers to confirm if it is available for purchase new.
To grade a Funko Pop! figure, you should submit it to a professional third-party grading service such as PSA, Beckett, or CGC, which will evaluate the item based on specific criteria including paint condition, seam integrity, and overall wear. For a personal condition check, inspect the figure under bright light for paint chips, scratches, or "pop" marks on the plastic, and verify that the head articulation is smooth without excessive play. Keep in mind that standard retail figures are not typically graded for investment value unless they are rare variants, so professional grading is generally only recommended for limited editions or high-value items.
