No, the Pennywise w/ Boat Pop! Movies (SKU 472) is not considered rare. It was part of the standard 2017 release wave for the *It* movie and was widely available in retail stores. While specific variants like chases or exclusives may be harder to find, the standard version is a common collectible with a large production run.
The Pennywise w/ Boat Pop! (SKU 472) is a common 2017 release, so its value is primarily determined by condition and whether it remains in the box. In the secondary market, unopened copies typically sell for around $10 to $15, while loose figures generally fetch between $5 and $8. Prices can fluctuate slightly based on current demand and seller fees, so checking recent completed sales on platforms like eBay provides the most accurate real-time valuation.
To authenticate your Funko Pop! #472, verify that the box displays the official Funko logo, a barcode, and a holographic sticker, and ensure the vinyl figure itself has the "Funko" logo embossed on the bottom of the base. Check that the paint application is clean without significant bleeding, and that the eyes are properly aligned and glossy, as these are common indicators of counterfeits. If the packaging feels flimsy or the printing on the box is blurry, it may be a fake, so comparing it to verified images of the 2017 release is recommended.
The Pennywise w/ Boat Pop! Movies was released in 2017 by Funko.
Funko has discontinued the Pennywise w/ Boat Pop! Movies figure, so it is no longer in print or available to buy new directly from the manufacturer. This item is now considered out of print, meaning any new copies found on the market are likely resold inventory or potentially counterfeit. Collectors typically seek out this specific SKU on secondary markets such as eBay or specialty toy resale sites.
Condition-checking a Funko Pop! primarily involves inspecting the vinyl figure for surface imperfections such as scratches, scuffs, or paint transfer, as well as verifying that the eyes are clean and undamaged. You should also examine the packaging for any dents, creases, or tears, noting that the presence of the original seal is a significant factor in determining value. For a formal grade, you can submit the item to a third-party grading service, though this is less common for standard movie series figures compared to high-end collectibles.
