Common questions about the Pirates of the Caribbean Dog Pop! Disney from Funko.
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Pirates of the Caribbean Dog Pop! (SKU 1105) is not considered rare. It is a standard production item from Funko's Disney line that was widely distributed through major retail channels and online marketplaces. While specific variants like Chase figures or exclusive releases may have lower production numbers, this standard vinyl figure remains readily available in the secondary market.
The standard retail price for the Funko Pop! Disney Pirates of the Caribbean Dog (SKU 1105) is typically around $12.99 to $14.99 USD. As a mass-produced item from a popular franchise, its value generally remains at or slightly below retail price on the secondary market, with significant appreciation only occurring if the figure is in a sealed, unopened box.
To authenticate your Funko Pop! #1105, first examine the packaging for a holographic sticker and the correct bar code, as counterfeit items often lack these security features or use low-quality printing. Inspect the vinyl figure itself for sharp, clean edges and consistent paint application, noting that genuine Funko Pops typically have a smooth finish without visible mold lines or excess plastic. You can also verify the authenticity by checking the SKU number on the box against official Funko product listings, though be aware that high-quality counterfeits can sometimes replicate these details, so consulting a certified appraiser is recommended for high-value items.
Funko does not publicly list specific release dates for individual Pop! Vinyl figures in their official records, so an exact release date for the Pirates of the Caribbean Dog (SKU 1105) cannot be reliably confirmed. While this figure is part of the standard Disney Pirates of the Caribbean line, without a verified date from Funko's production logs, any specific year would be speculative.
Funko has discontinued the production of the Pirates of the Caribbean Dog Pop! (SKU 1105), so it is no longer available to buy new from the manufacturer. While it is no longer in print, you may still find new-in-box units at third-party retailers, though they are often sold at a premium over the original retail price.
There is no standardized third-party grading service for individual Funko Pop! figures, so you cannot obtain a professional grade for this item. To condition-check it yourself, inspect the figure under bright light for common defects such as paint overspray, mold lines, or scratches, and verify that the head is properly seated on the body. Additionally, check the box for any damage, as the packaging is a significant factor in the figure's resale value.
