No, the Prince Akeem Pop! Movies figure is not considered rare. It was a standard production item released in 2018 as part of the *Coming 2 America* movie tie-in, meaning it was widely available and not a limited edition. While its value may fluctuate based on condition and market demand, it is a common collectible compared to exclusive or limited-run Funko items.
The retail value for a new, unopened Funko Pop! Prince Akeem (SKU 574) is typically around $12.99, while used copies generally sell for between $5 and $10 depending on condition. Because this figure is a standard mass-produced item from 2018, it does not command a premium price in the secondary market.
To authenticate your 2018 Prince Akeem Pop! Movies figure (SKU 574), first verify that the box is intact and features the correct Funko branding, including the "Movies" series logo and the specific character name. Examine the figure itself for consistent paint application, proper proportions, and the characteristic vinyl texture, as counterfeit items often exhibit sloppy paint lines, incorrect colors, or a plastic-like feel. You can also cross-reference the SKU number on the bottom of the box with official Funko product listings to ensure it matches the 2018 release specifications.

The Prince Akeem Pop! Movies figure (SKU 574) is currently out of print and is no longer available to buy new directly from Funko. As a 2018 release, it is considered a discontinued item, meaning new stock is only available through third-party resellers or the secondary market.
To condition-check a Prince Akeem Pop! Movies, inspect the vinyl for any visible cracks, chips, or paint imperfections, paying close attention to the head and hands which are prone to damage. Verify that the figure is securely attached to the base and that the packaging, if present, is free from significant tears, creases, or water damage. For a formal grade, you would need to submit the figure to a professional grading service, though most standard Pop! figures are typically valued based on their retail condition rather than professional grading.
