No, the Prince John Variant Pop! is not considered rare. It was a standard retail release by Funko in 2014 and is widely available on the secondary market. Because it was produced in large quantities and is not a limited edition, it does not carry the scarcity premium associated with exclusive or discontinued variants.
The value of a Prince John (Variant) Pop! Disney figure from 2014 varies significantly based on its condition, specifically whether it is sealed in its original box or loose. Generally, these vintage Disney figures trade in the secondary market for between $15 and $40, with sealed copies commanding the higher end of that range. Prices can fluctuate based on current collector demand and the specific variant details, so checking recent completed sales on platforms like eBay provides the most accurate current market value.
Authenticating a 2014 Funko Pop! requires examining the paint quality, as genuine figures typically feature clean lines without significant bleeding, while counterfeits often show sloppy application and misaligned eyes. You should also inspect the box for sharp printing, correct SKU 98 labeling, and the presence of the official Funko logo and holographic sticker, which are frequently missing or poorly reproduced on fakes. Since counterfeit rates for older, non-exclusive figures are relatively low compared to limited editions, a figure that matches the official product photos in terms of proportions and color accuracy is likely authentic.

To condition-check a Prince John (Variant) Pop! Disney, first inspect the vinyl surface under bright light for any mold lines, scratches, or paint imperfections that are common in 2014 production runs. Verify that the figure is securely seated in its base and that the head articulation is intact without excessive play. Examine the original box for shelf wear, creases, and the presence of the original shrink wrap, as these factors significantly impact the item's market value.
