To authenticate your 2012 LEGO R2-D2 (set 10225), first verify that the set number 10225 is printed on the box and that the packaging matches the original 2012 release. Check the physical model for consistent part quality, correct color matching, and the presence of the official LEGO logo on the box. Since this is a mass-produced set, look for signs of tampering, such as a new seal or mismatched box art, and confirm the build instructions and parts list align with the official 10225 set. If the box is missing, you can authenticate the model by comparing its dimensions and part count against the official LEGO product specifications for set 10225.

To grade a LEGO R2-D2 (set 10225), inspect the dome for cracks, check the body panels for warping or loose hinges, and verify that all stickers are intact and aligned. Examine the feet for scuffing and ensure the internal mechanism moves smoothly without sticking. For professional grading, the set is typically evaluated on a 1-10 scale based on completeness, color accuracy, and structural integrity, with common defects including missing pieces or faded stickers.
