Common questions about the Rapunzel (with Lantern) Pop! Disney from Funko.
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Rapunzel (with Lantern) Pop! Disney figure (SKU 981) is not considered rare, as it is a standard production item from the widely distributed Disney Princess line. These figures are manufactured in large quantities and remain readily available through major retailers and secondary markets. While specific color variants or limited editions may be harder to find, the standard version is a common collectible.
The value of the Rapunzel (with Lantern) Pop! Disney (SKU 981) depends heavily on its condition and packaging. A new, sealed figure typically sells for approximately $10 to $15, while an unsealed figure in good condition generally commands a lower price, often between $5 and $8. Prices can fluctuate based on current market demand and the specific retailer, so checking recent sold listings on platforms like eBay provides the most accurate real-time valuation.
You can authenticate your Funko Pop! Rapunzel (with Lantern) by checking the packaging for a holographic sticker, a unique serial number, and the official Funko logo, which are standard security features for genuine products. Additionally, inspect the figure for high-quality paint application, sharp sculpting details, and a solid, non-porous plastic feel, as counterfeit items often exhibit poor paint coverage, rough edges, or a lighter, more brittle plastic. If the box lacks these specific identifiers or the figure feels significantly off in weight and texture, it is likely a replica.
The specific release date for the Rapunzel (with Lantern) Pop! Disney figure (SKU 981) is not reliably documented in available public records. While Funko Pop! figures are typically released in waves throughout the year, exact launch dates for individual SKUs are often not published by the manufacturer or tracked consistently by major retailers.
Funko Pop! figures are frequently discontinued once their initial production run is exhausted, and there is no current indication that SKU 981, the Rapunzel with Lantern figure, is back in print. Consequently, new copies are generally unavailable from official Funko retailers, and the item is typically only found on the secondary market through third-party resellers.
To condition-check a Funko Pop!, inspect the vinyl for cracks, chips, or paint damage, paying close attention to the lantern accessory and Rapunzel's hair, which are prone to stress fractures. Verify that the figure stands level on its base and that the eyes are properly aligned without clouding or scratches. Since Funko Pops are mass-produced and not typically graded by major third-party services like PSA, their value is determined by their physical condition, with mint-in-box examples commanding the highest prices.
