No, the Sauron Pop! Movies figure (SKU 1487) is not considered rare. It is a standard production item released in 2023 as part of the regular Funko Pop! Movies lineup, meaning it was widely available through major retail channels and is not a limited edition or exclusive variant.
The value of the 2023 Sauron Pop! Movies figure (SKU 1487) fluctuates based on market demand and condition, but it typically trades between $10 and $20 for a sealed box in current retail environments. As a standard release from a major franchise, it does not command a significant premium over its original retail price unless it is part of a specific chase variant or remains in pristine, unopened condition. For the most accurate current valuation, checking recent completed sales on secondary marketplaces like eBay is recommended.
To authenticate your 2023 Sauron Pop! Movies figure (SKU 1487), first verify that the box features the official Funko logo and the specific SKU number printed on the back. Inspect the figure for high-quality paint application, sharp sculpting details, and a secure, well-fitted head joint, as counterfeit versions often exhibit sloppy painting or loose parts. You can also cross-reference the packaging design and window cutout against images of the official release from Funko’s website or reputable retailers. If the item lacks these specific manufacturing markers, it is likely a replica.
The Sauron Pop! Movies was released in 2023 by Funko.
Funko has discontinued the Sauron Pop! Movies figure (SKU 1487), meaning it is no longer in print and cannot be purchased new from the manufacturer. While it may occasionally appear on third-party marketplaces, these listings typically represent used inventory or inflated prices for out-of-print items.
To condition-check a Sauron Pop! Movies figure, inspect the vinyl surface for any scratches, scuffs, or paint chips, paying close attention to the eyes and the details on the sword and armor. Verify that the figure is securely seated in its original box and that the window is free of cracks or significant haze. If you intend to submit it for a professional grade, ensure the figure is in its original, unopened packaging, as grading services like Beckett or PSA typically require sealed boxes to assign a numerical score.
