The Sauron Pop! Movies figure (SKU 1487) is not considered rare, as it is a standard production item released in 2023. It was widely available through major retail channels and Funko's direct sales platforms, meaning it does not carry the scarcity of limited editions, chase variants, or early production runs.
The value of a Sauron Pop! Movies figure (SKU 1487) varies significantly based on condition, with sealed retail copies typically trading between $15 and $30. Prices for loose figures are generally lower, often ranging from $8 to $15, while graded examples can command higher premiums depending on the score. For the most accurate current market value, checking recent sold listings on platforms like eBay is recommended.
To authenticate your 2023 Sauron Pop! Movies figure, verify that the packaging features the official Funko logo, the "Movies" series branding, and the correct SKU number 1487. Inspect the vinyl for consistent paint application, sharp sculpting details, and a secure base, as counterfeit items often exhibit sloppy paint lines, misaligned parts, or low-quality plastic. You can also cross-reference the box art and figure design against official Funko product images to ensure the character's proportions and accessories match the licensed release.

Funko has not officially announced the discontinuation of the Sauron Pop! Movies (SKU 1487), so it is technically still in print. However, availability for new purchases is inconsistent, as the figure is frequently out of stock on major retail platforms and often requires checking secondary markets for current listings.
To condition-check a Sauron Pop! Movies, inspect the vinyl for any cracks, scratches, or paint chips, paying close attention to the face and the staff. Verify that the figure is securely attached to the base and that the original box is free from significant damage, fading, or wear. For a formal grade, you can submit the item to a third-party authentication service like PSA, which will assign a numerical score based on the figure's overall preservation.
