No, the Scar with Hyenas Pop! Disney figure is not considered rare. It is a standard production item from the widely distributed Disney line, and its 2022 release date means it is generally available for purchase at retail or through secondary markets.
The retail value of the 2022 Funko Pop! Disney Scar with Hyenas (SKU 1204) is typically between $12 and $15 for a new, unopened box. As a standard production item from a major franchise, it does not command a significant premium over its original retail price in the secondary market.
To authenticate your Funko Pop! Scar with Hyenas (SKU 1204), first verify that the box is sealed with the standard Funko holographic sticker and that the plastic packaging is crisp without excessive creasing. Inspect the figure itself for consistent paint application, particularly on Scar's fur and the hyenas' details, and ensure the eyes are clear and properly aligned, as poor molding or paint bleed are common indicators of counterfeits. You can also cross-reference the SKU and product images against Funko's official website or reputable retailer listings to confirm the packaging design matches the 2022 release. If the figure feels unusually light or the plastic has a rough texture, it is likely a replica.
The Scar with Hyenas Pop! Disney was released in 2022 by Funko.
The Scar with Hyenas Pop! Vinyl figure (SKU 1204) is no longer in print and is not currently available for purchase new from Funko. As a 2022 release, it has been discontinued, meaning new stock is no longer produced or sold through official channels. Collectors seeking this specific figure must look for used or pre-owned copies on the secondary market.
To condition-check a Funko Pop! figure, first inspect the vinyl for any visible scratches, scuffs, or paint chips, paying close attention to high-contact areas like the claws and facial features. Verify that the eyes are properly aligned and free of bubbles or cloudiness, as these are common defects. Ensure the figure is securely seated in its base without any gaps or wobble, and check the packaging for any creases, tears, or signs of prior opening if you are evaluating it as a sealed item.
