Common questions about the Sidney Crosby Pop! Hockey from Funko.
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Sidney Crosby Pop! Hockey figure is not considered rare. It is a standard production item from Funko's mainline hockey collection, meaning it was manufactured in large quantities and is widely available through major retailers and online marketplaces. While specific color variants or limited editions might be harder to find, the standard version is a common collectible.
The value of a Sidney Crosby Pop! Hockey figure (SKU 95) varies significantly based on condition, packaging, and market demand, typically ranging from $10 to $25 for a sealed figure in recent years. Prices can fluctuate, so checking current completed listings on platforms like eBay or StockX is the most reliable way to determine its current market value.
To authenticate a Funko Pop! Hockey #95 Sidney Crosby, first verify that the box is sealed with the official holographic sticker and that the figure inside matches the official product photography for that specific SKU. Check the base of the figure for the standard Funko Pop! logo and ensure the paint application is clean without significant bleeding, as mass-produced items have consistent quality control. If the figure appears off-color, has loose joints, or lacks the proper packaging, it may be a counterfeit, and you should compare it against verified listings from reputable sellers or contact Funko customer service for a definitive assessment.
Funko does not publish specific release dates for individual Pop! figures in their public documentation, so the exact release date for the Sidney Crosby Pop! Hockey figure (SKU 95) cannot be reliably confirmed. While this figure is part of the standard NHL collection, precise launch timelines for specific numbered items are often not tracked in official manufacturer records.
Funko has not officially announced a discontinuation of the Sidney Crosby Pop! Hockey figure, so it remains technically in print. However, availability for new purchases is often inconsistent due to supply chain issues and high demand, meaning it may be out of stock at major retailers for extended periods. Collectors should check current inventory on Funko's official website or authorized retailers to confirm immediate availability.
To condition-check a Funko Pop! figure, inspect the vinyl for surface scratches, paint chips, or discoloration, and verify that the head is properly seated on the body without gaps. Examine the base for scuffs and ensure the packaging is intact if you are evaluating the item as a sealed product. For a formal grade, you can submit the figure to a third-party grading service, though this is less common for standard Pop! figures than for trading cards.
