Common questions about the Smaug Pop! Movies from Funko (2014).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Smaug Pop! Movies figure is not considered rare. It was a standard mass-production release from 2014 and remains widely available in both new and used condition. Because it was not a limited edition or exclusive variant, its value is generally low compared to rarer Funko releases.
The value of a Smaug Pop! Movies figure (SKU 124) varies significantly based on condition, with unopened figures typically commanding a premium over loose ones. As a common release from 2014, loose copies in good condition generally sell for a modest amount, often ranging from a few dollars to around ten dollars, while sealed boxes may fetch slightly more depending on the current market demand for the character.
To authenticate your Smaug Pop! Movies (SKU 124), first verify that the figure is manufactured by Funko and features the correct 2014 release details, including the specific paint application and sculpting of the dragon. Check the packaging for the official Funko logo, the SKU number 124, and a barcode that matches the manufacturer's records. While there is no single universal certification for standard vinyl figures, you can compare the item against high-resolution images from Funko’s official archives or reputable collector databases to ensure the proportions and color accuracy align with the original production.

The Smaug Pop! Movies figure (SKU 124) is no longer in print and is not available to buy new from Funko. It was released in 2014 as part of the initial wave for *The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug* and has since been discontinued. Collectors looking for a new copy must rely on third-party resellers, where prices are typically significantly higher than the original retail value.
To condition-check a Smaug Pop! Movies figure, inspect the vinyl surface for scratches, scuffs, or paint chips, paying close attention to the dragon's scales and horns where wear is most common. Verify that the figure is securely seated in its base and that the eyes are intact without clouding or damage. Check the original box for any dents, tears, or faded printing, as the packaging condition significantly impacts the item's value for collectors.
