Common questions about the Steamboat Willie Pop! Disney from Funko.
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Steamboat Willie Pop! Disney (SKU 425) is not considered rare. It is a standard production item that has been widely available through major retailers and Funko's own channels since its release. While specific variants like Chase figures or exclusive editions may be harder to find, the standard vinyl figure remains a common collectible.
The Steamboat Willie Pop! Disney (SKU 425) is a standard retail item that typically sells for $9.99 to $12.99 new in its box. Because it is a common, mass-produced figure, it generally does not command a premium in the secondary market, with used copies often trading for less than the original retail price.
Funko Pop! figures do not include individual certificates of authenticity, so verifying a specific unit's origin is difficult without the original packaging. You can check for authenticity by examining the quality of the paint application, the clarity of the plastic, and the presence of the official Funko logo on the base, as counterfeit items often feature blurry printing or poor seam lines. If the figure arrived in a sealed box, inspect the box for the correct SKU 425 and the standard Funko holographic sticker, though keep in mind that high-quality counterfeits can replicate these features.
Funko does not publish specific release dates for individual Pop! Vinyl figures in their official documentation, so the exact release date for SKU 425 is not reliably available. While the character Steamboat Willie entered the public domain in 2024, which likely prompted the release of this figure, I cannot confirm the precise month or year it hit the market without speculation.
Funko has discontinued the Steamboat Willie Pop! Vinyl figure (SKU 425), meaning it is no longer in print and cannot be purchased new directly from the manufacturer. While it may occasionally appear on secondary markets like eBay or Amazon, availability is sporadic and prices are typically inflated due to its out-of-print status.
To condition-check a Steamboat Willie Pop! Disney, inspect the vinyl surface for scratches, scuffs, or paint chips, paying close attention to high-contact areas like the ears and hands. Verify that the eyes are intact and properly aligned, and check for any hairline cracks in the plastic, particularly around the seams and joints. Examine the base for stability and ensure the packaging, if present, is free from significant creases, tears, or water damage, as these factors significantly impact the item's value.
