For a formal grade, you must submit the item to a third-party grading service like PSA, which will evaluate the figure and packaging on a scale from 1.0 to 10.0 and encase the item in a tamper-evident slab. Be aware that grading fees can be substantial relative to the item's value, and the process takes several weeks, so consider whether a formal grade is necessary for your specific collection goals.
