Common questions about the T.J. Oshie Pop! Hockey from Funko.
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the T.J. Oshie Pop! Hockey figure is not considered rare. It is a standard production item from Funko's licensed hockey line, meaning it was manufactured in large quantities and is generally easy to find in new condition. While specific color variants or special editions might have lower production runs, the standard SKU 43 figure remains a common collectible.
The value of a T.J. Oshie Pop! Hockey figure varies significantly based on its condition, packaging, and current market demand, so there is no single fixed price. As a standard production item, it typically sells for between $5 and $15 when new in box, while open figures generally fetch less. For the most accurate and up-to-date valuation, you should check recent completed sales on secondary marketplaces like eBay.
Authenticating a T.J. Oshie Pop! requires checking for specific quality markers, such as a smooth, uniform paint job without brush strokes and a clear, unclouded plastic finish. You should also verify that the "Funko" logo on the base is crisp and that the figure's proportions match the standard 3.75-inch height. Since I cannot physically inspect your item, I cannot confirm its authenticity, but you can compare it against verified images from Funko's official website or reputable reseller listings to identify any manufacturing defects.
I cannot find reliable information confirming the specific release date for the T.J. Oshie Pop! Hockey figure with SKU 43. While Funko regularly releases NHL player figures, exact launch dates for individual SKUs are not consistently documented in public records.
Funko has discontinued the T.J. Oshie Pop! Hockey figure, meaning it is no longer in print and cannot be purchased new from the manufacturer. While it may occasionally appear on secondary markets like eBay or Amazon, availability is sporadic and prices are typically higher than the original retail cost.
There is no standardized third-party grading service specifically for individual Funko Pop! figures, so you cannot submit a T.J. Oshie figure to a major grading company like PSA or Beckett for a certified grade. To assess its condition, you should inspect the vinyl for surface scratches, paint chips, and mold lines, and verify that the figure is securely seated in its original window box with the cardboard intact. For high-value items, you can seek a professional appraisal from a reputable collectibles dealer, but for most retail-level figures, a visual inspection against a known "mint" example is the standard method.
