Common questions about the T-Rex Hatchling Pop! Movies from Funko (2024).

No, the T-Rex Hatchling Pop! Movies figure is not considered rare. It is a standard production item released by Funko in 2024, and like most regular edition vinyl figures, it is widely available through major retailers and online marketplaces.
The T-Rex Hatchling Pop! Movies (SKU 1716) is a standard retail release from 2024, and its value is typically determined by local market demand rather than a fixed collector's price. In its original sealed box, it generally sells for its original retail price, while unboxed figures usually trade for less than that amount. Because it is a recent release, it has not yet established a significant secondary market premium.
To authenticate your T-Rex Hatchling Pop! Movies, first verify that the box features the official Funko logo and displays the correct SKU, 1716, along with the 2024 release year. Inspect the vinyl figure for consistent paint application, sharp sculpting details, and a secure base, as poor quality control is a common indicator of counterfeits. You can cross-reference the packaging and figure against high-resolution images from Funko’s official website or reputable retail partners to confirm specific design elements. If the item lacks proper licensing marks or exhibits significant manufacturing flaws, it is likely not an authentic product.

Grading a T-Rex Hatchling Pop! Movies figure primarily involves inspecting the vinyl surface for common manufacturing defects such as seams, mold lines, or paint imperfections, as well as checking for any physical damage like chips or scratches. For standard retail grading, you would assess the figure's condition on a scale from Mint to Poor, paying close attention to the articulation points and the integrity of the packaging if it is sealed. While third-party grading services exist for collectibles, they are rarely used for standard retail Funko Pops due to the low cost of the item relative to the grading fee, so most collectors perform a visual inspection themselves.
