To authenticate your Tanker Bug 6" Pop! Movies figure, first verify that the packaging displays the official Funko logo and the specific SKU number 842, which corresponds to the 2020 release. Examine the figure itself for high-quality paint application, clean seams, and the correct proportions of the Tanker Bug character, as counterfeit items often feature sloppy detailing or incorrect colors. Additionally, check the bottom of the figure for a molded copyright mark or production date code, which genuine Funko products typically include. If the item lacks these specific manufacturing markers or the box appears to be a reprint with poor print quality, it is likely a replica.

Condition-checking a Funko Pop! involves inspecting the vinyl figure for manufacturing defects such as paint overspray, misaligned eyes, or seams, as well as any post-production damage like cracks or scuffs. You should also verify that the box is in good condition, free from significant wear, creases, or water damage, since the packaging is a major factor in the item's value. For a formal grade, you would need to submit the figure to a professional third-party grading service, though this is rarely done for standard 6-inch vinyl figures due to the cost relative to their market value.
