Common questions about the Taran & The Horned King Pop! Disney from Funko.
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Taran & The Horned King Pop! is not considered a rare item, as it was part of a standard retail release for the Disney+ series. It is widely available on the secondary market, and its value is typically determined by condition rather than scarcity.
The value of a Taran & The Horned King Pop! Disney figure varies significantly based on its condition, whether it is sealed in the box, and current market demand. As a standard retail item, its value is generally tied to its original retail price, which is typically around $12 to $15, though specific pricing can fluctuate. Without access to real-time auction data, I cannot provide a precise current market valuation, but unopened figures usually retain their retail value while opened ones often sell for less.
To authenticate your Taran & The Horned King Pop! Disney figure, first verify that the packaging is a sealed, shrink-wrapped box with the official Funko logo and a barcode, as unboxed figures are significantly harder to verify without provenance. Inspect the figure for consistent paint application, proper sculpting details, and the correct Funko "F" logo on the base, noting that counterfeit items often feature blurry printing, off-color plastics, or poor seam lines. If the figure was purchased from an authorized retailer like the Funko website, major toy chains, or reputable online marketplaces with seller guarantees, it is highly likely to be genuine, but there is no definitive serial number system for standard vinyl Pops that allows for independent verification outside of visual inspection.
The specific release date for the Taran & The Horned King Pop! Disney figure is not reliably documented in available public records. While Funko regularly releases figures from the 1981 film *The Black Cauldron*, exact launch dates for individual items are often not tracked in standard collector databases.
The Taran & The Horned King Pop! Vinyl figure is no longer in print and is not currently available to buy new from Funko. As a discontinued item, it can only be purchased through the secondary market, where prices are typically higher than the original retail value.
There is no official third-party grading service for Funko Pops, so you must assess the condition yourself by inspecting the figure under bright light for paint chips, scratches, or mold lines. Check the head for seam lines and ensure the eyes are properly aligned, as these are common defects that significantly impact value. If you are looking for a verified condition report, you can seek out reputable peer-to-peer marketplaces where sellers provide detailed photos, but be aware that any "grading" outside of major toy-specific authentication services is subjective and not standardized.
