Common questions about the Thanos 6" Marvel Pop! from Funko (2015).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Thanos 6-inch Marvel Pop! (SKU 78) is not considered rare, as it was a standard mass-produced release from 2015 that was widely available in retail stores. Because it was part of a large initial production run and has remained in circulation for many years, it is generally easy to find in new or used condition.
The retail value for a new, sealed Funko Pop! Thanos #78 is typically between $10 and $15. Because this figure was released in 2015 and is no longer in production, used copies in good condition generally sell for $5 to $10, while rare variants or figures in exceptional condition may command slightly higher prices.
To authenticate your 2015 Thanos 6-inch Marvel Pop! (SKU 78), first verify that the box displays the official Funko logo, the specific SKU number 78, and the correct copyright date of 2015. Examine the vinyl figure for consistent paint application, sharp sculpting details, and the presence of the standard Funko Pop! base and packaging insert. While there is no single definitive holographic marker for this specific vintage item, significant deviations in color, texture, or box printing are strong indicators of a counterfeit. If the item appears consistent with these manufacturing standards, it is likely authentic, though professional appraisal is recommended for high-value transactions.
The Thanos 6" Marvel Pop! was released in 2015 by Funko.
The Thanos 6" Marvel Pop! (SKU 78) is no longer in print and is not available to buy new from Funko. It was part of the initial wave of 6-inch Marvel figures released in 2015 and has since been discontinued, meaning it is now only available through the secondary market.
There is no standardized third-party grading service for Funko Pop! figures, so you should evaluate the condition yourself by inspecting the figure for common defects such as paint scratches, chipped plastic, or misaligned eyes. Check the head for "head tilt" and ensure the figure is not loose in its box, as these issues significantly impact value. For a formal condition check, you can send photos to a reputable online marketplace or collector community for a peer review, but be aware that any assessment is subjective and not an official certification.
