Common questions about the The Penguin (Batman Returns) Pop! Heroes from Funko (2020).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Penguin (Batman Returns) Pop! Heroes figure is not considered rare, as it is a standard production item from the widely available Pop! Heroes line. It was released in 2020 and is generally accessible through regular retail channels and secondary markets, making it a common collectible rather than a limited edition or exclusive variant.
The standard retail price for the 2020 Funko Pop! Heroes The Penguin (Batman Returns) figure, SKU 339, was approximately $12.99. As a mass-produced item from a major manufacturer, its value in the secondary market typically hovers near or slightly below that original retail price, depending on whether it is new in box or loose. It is not considered a rare collectible, so it does not command a significant premium over its initial selling price.
To authenticate your 2020 The Penguin (Batman Returns) Pop! Heroes figure, verify that the packaging features the standard Funko branding, a barcode, and a holographic security sticker on the back. The figure itself should have a matte finish with clean paint application, and the base should be stamped with the Funko logo and the year 2020. If the box lacks a security sticker, the paint is glossy or uneven, or the figure feels lightweight, it is likely a counterfeit.
The The Penguin (Batman Returns) Pop! Heroes was released in 2020 by Funko.
The Penguin (Batman Returns) Pop! Heroes figure, SKU 339, is no longer in print and is not currently available for purchase as a new item from Funko. As a 2020 release, it has been discontinued, meaning new stock is no longer produced or sold through official channels. Collectors seeking this specific figure must look to the secondary market for used or open-box copies.
Condition-checking a Funko Pop! figure primarily involves inspecting the vinyl surface for scratches, scuffs, or paint transfer, as well as verifying that the eyes and any printed details are intact and free from smudges. You should also examine the base for cracks or warping and ensure the figure stands level without wobbling, which can indicate structural damage. While third-party grading services like PSA or CGC exist for collectibles, they are rarely used for standard production Funko Pops due to the low cost of the item relative to grading fees, so most collectors assess condition visually using high-resolution photos and direct inspection.
