Common questions about the Thestral Pop! Fantastic Beasts from Funko.
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
The Thestral Pop! from the Fantastic Beasts series is not considered a rare variant, as it is a standard production figure from the initial wave of that collection. While specific production numbers for SKU 17 are not publicly disclosed by Funko, standard figures in popular franchise lines are manufactured in large quantities and are generally easy to find in retail stores or through secondary marketplaces.
The value of a Funko Pop! Thestral from the Fantastic Beasts series fluctuates based on condition, packaging, and current market demand, but new copies typically trade between $10 and $25. Because this is a standard, non-limited edition figure, it does not command a premium price compared to rare variants. For the most accurate current valuation, check recent completed sales on secondary marketplaces like eBay.
I cannot verify the authenticity of a specific item without physical inspection or high-resolution images of the packaging, barcodes, and product details. To authenticate a Funko Pop! yourself, check for the official Funko logo, a scannable barcode, and the correct SKU number on the box, while also ensuring the vinyl figure has clean seams, consistent paint, and the standard "Funko" branding on the base. If you suspect the item is counterfeit, you can contact Funko directly through their customer service channels for a formal authentication review.
I cannot find reliable information confirming a specific release date for a Funko Pop! figure of the Thestral from the Fantastic Beasts franchise with SKU 17. It is possible that this specific item does not exist in the Funko catalog, as SKU 17 typically corresponds to a different character, and Thestral figures are often part of larger sets or exclusive releases rather than standard numbered singles.
The Thestral Pop! from the Fantastic Beasts series is considered out of print and is no longer produced by Funko. Consequently, it is generally unavailable for purchase as a new item directly from the manufacturer or major retail partners. Collectors seeking this figure typically must rely on the secondary market, such as eBay or other resale platforms, where prices are often significantly higher than the original retail value.
Condition-checking a Funko Pop! involves inspecting the figure for manufacturing defects such as paint overspray, seam lines, or misaligned eyes, as well as any physical damage like cracks or chips. You should also examine the box for signs of wear, creases, or previous opening, since sealed boxes command higher value than loose figures. For a formal grade, you would need to submit the item to a professional grading service, though this is rarely cost-effective for standard mass-produced Funko Pops.
