Common questions about the Thor Marvel Pop! from Funko (2012).
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Thor Marvel Pop! (SKU 12) is not considered rare. It is one of the earliest and most widely produced figures in the Funko Pop! line, released in 2012, and remains commonly available in retail stores and on the secondary market. Its high production volume and long availability make it an accessible entry-level collectible rather than a scarce item.
The value of a 2012 Thor Marvel Pop! (SKU 12) varies significantly based on condition, with unopened figures typically selling for approximately $10 to $25. Opened figures in good condition generally range from $5 to $15, while mint-condition sealed items may command slightly higher prices. Prices fluctuate based on current market demand and the specific platform where the item is listed.
It is not possible to authenticate a genuine 2012 production of the Thor Marvel Pop! (SKU 12), as Funko did not begin manufacturing Pop! figures until 2010 and the Marvel line launched in 2011, making a 2012 release date for this specific SKU historically inconsistent with standard production records. To authenticate a figure, you should examine the packaging for the official Funko logo, check the bottom of the figure for a molded copyright symbol and year, and verify that the paint application and plastic molding match high-resolution images of known genuine units. If the item claims to be from 2012 but lacks these specific manufacturing markers, it is likely a counterfeit or a mislabeled later production.
The Thor Marvel Pop! was released in 2012 by Funko.
The Thor Marvel Pop! (SKU 12) is no longer in print and is not available to buy new from Funko. It is a discontinued item from the 2012 release, meaning collectors must seek out used copies on the secondary market.
There is no standardized third-party grading service for Funko Pop! figures, so condition is assessed visually by collectors using informal scales such as "Mint," "Near Mint," or "Played." To check the condition of SKU 12, inspect the vinyl for scratches, paint chips, or mold seams, and verify that the head is properly seated on the body without excessive wobble. Additionally, examine the box for shelf wear, creases, or damage, as the packaging significantly impacts the figure's value.
