No, the Thorin Oakenshield Pop! Movies figure is not considered rare. It was a standard production item released in 2013 to accompany the film "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" and is widely available in the secondary market.
The value of a Thorin Oakenshield Pop! Movies figure (SKU 47) varies significantly based on its condition and packaging. A sealed figure in a pristine box typically sells for between $15 and $25, while an unboxed figure in good condition generally ranges from $5 to $10. Prices for this specific character tend to be lower than other figures from the same film due to his secondary role, so checking recent completed sales on secondary marketplaces is the most accurate way to determine current value.
To authenticate your Thorin Oakenshield Pop! Movies (SKU 47), first verify that the figure is manufactured by Funko and that the packaging features the official Funko logo and copyright information. Check the physical figure for consistent paint application, proper articulation, and the correct sculpting of Thorin's armor and beard, as counterfeit figures often exhibit poor molding or blurry details. While the 2013 release date aligns with the film's production window, the absence of a specific SKU on the box is standard for this era, so focus on the quality of the vinyl and the presence of the "Pop! Movies" branding on the packaging.

The Thorin Oakenshield Pop! Movies figure (SKU 47) is no longer in print and is not available for purchase new from Funko. To condition-check a Thorin Oakenshield Pop! Movies, inspect the vinyl surface under bright light for any cracks, hairline fractures, or paint chips, paying close attention to high-stress areas like the beard, armor edges, and weapon tips. Verify that the figure is securely seated on its base without excessive wobble, which can indicate a loose joint or manufacturing defect. Since this is a 2013 release, also check for signs of yellowing on the plastic or fading in the paint, particularly on lighter colors, to assess overall preservation.
