The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Hot Toys TMS 180 BioRider is not considered rare. It is a standard 1/6 scale collectible figure from the Transformers franchise that was widely produced and distributed through major retail channels. While specific color variations or limited editions may have lower production numbers, the base model is a common item in the collector market.
The TMS 180 BioRider originally retailed for $270.00. Live secondary-market data isn't indexed yet — check eBay sold listings for current value.
The TMS 180 BioRider is not a recognized product from Hot Toys, which specializes in 1/6 scale collectible figures and does not manufacture items under this model number or SKU. The provided UPC and MPN do not correspond to any verified Hot Toys catalog entry, suggesting the item is likely a counterfeit, a mislabeled product, or a confusion with a different manufacturer. You should not rely on this item as an authentic Hot Toys collectible, and I cannot provide authentication steps for a product that does not exist in the manufacturer's official lineup.
I cannot find reliable information regarding the specific release date for the Hot Toys TMS 180 BioRider. While the item is identified as a Hot Toys product with the SKU 915827, the provided details do not include a confirmed launch date, and I will not speculate on the timing.
The Hot Toys TMS 180 BioRider is no longer in print and is not available for purchase as a new item from the manufacturer. This figure is part of the Transformers Movie Series, which has been discontinued, meaning new stock is no longer produced. Collectors seeking this item must look to the secondary market, such as online resale platforms, where prices are typically higher than the original retail cost.
The TMS 180 BioRider is a 1/6 scale collectible figure, and its condition is typically assessed by examining the paint application, joint integrity, and the clarity of the transparent parts. You should inspect the figure for any hairline cracks in the plastic, discoloration, or "crazing" on the clear components, as well as check for loose joints or missing accessories. Since this is a modern mass-produced item, it is not graded by professional third-party services like PSA or CGC, so its value is determined by its original packaging condition and the presence of all included parts.
