Common questions about the Venom Pop! Games from Funko.
The answers below are provided by contributors and may not be fully accurate. Verify important details before relying on them.
No, the Venom Pop! Games figure (SKU 972) is not considered rare. It is a standard production item from the Pop! Games line, which is widely available through major retailers and Funko's official channels. Unlike limited-edition variants or exclusive releases, this figure was produced in high quantities for general retail distribution.
The Venom Pop! Games figure (SKU 972) is a standard retail item that typically sells for $12 to $15 in new, unopened condition. Because it is a common release and not a limited edition, its value does not significantly exceed the original retail price even when sealed.
Funko Pop! Games are a specific product line that combines a vinyl figure with a board game, and the SKU 972 corresponds to the Venom variant. To authenticate your item, verify that the packaging includes the official Funko Games logo and that the vinyl figure matches the standard production quality, including the correct paint application and articulation points. Be aware that counterfeiters often replicate the box art but use lower-quality plastic for the figure, so inspecting the weight and finish of the vinyl is a reliable way to spot fakes.
I cannot find reliable information confirming a specific release date for a Venom Pop! Games item with SKU 972. While Funko produces various board games and card games featuring Marvel characters, this specific SKU does not correspond to a widely documented release in standard collectibles databases.
Funko has discontinued the Venom Pop! Games figure, meaning it is no longer in print and is not available to purchase new from official retailers. This item is now considered out of production, so any remaining stock is limited to third-party resellers or the secondary market.
To condition-check a Venom Pop! Games figure, first inspect the vinyl surface for any scratches, scuffs, or paint chips, paying close attention to the high-wear areas like the claws and fangs. Verify that the figure is securely seated within its base and that the packaging, if present, is free from significant creases, tears, or fading. For a formal grade, you would need to submit the item to a professional grading service, as there is no standardized retail grading scale for individual Funko Pops.
